Vintage Notes:  2013 was an extraordinary vintage.  Rains in the winter of 2012/2013 primed the vineyards for an excellent growing season.  The weather was warm and consistent throughout bud break, which lead to an abundance of fruit and vigor in the vines.  Harvest was earlier than usual but ideal growing conditions allowed for optimal ripening.

Tasting Notes:  “Presenting another terrific Napa Cabernet for 2013, TVH will be sure to nab 96+ ratings.  In their normal style, TVH has produced a huge Cab, and this one is jammed with deep ripe flavors of juicy blackcurrant, blackberries and black cherries oozing with dark chocolate and some gentle nuances of freshly ground expresso.  An impression of tobacco and wet clay follow the fruit to the finish line.  The wine has a very plush side to it, yet the structure is massive.   The tannins are high, the acid firm and the spicy French oak aggressive at this young age.   This is a wine that will start to drink well in 2-3 years yet last for 15+ years due to the structure.   I love the luscious fruit that envelops the 2013 yet it is the layers of personality and complexity this stellar wine delivers that leaves such a lasting impression." – Randa Warren, Master Sommelier 2007
